A 25-year-old woman was killed after being hit by a semi-trailer truck on Interstate 70 in Jackson County.
Caitlyn Morgan, 25, was killed at around 2 a.m. Thursday morning on westbound Interstate 70 in Independence, Mo.
According to the Missouri Highway Patrol incident report, a white 2015 Freightliner tractor-trailer was heading westbound on I-70 when Morgan stepped out into the roadway.
She was pronounced dead at the scene by the coroner's office.
