KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The man who escaped Wyandotte County custody while receiving medical treatment avoided capture for less than a week.
Brandon Banister is back in a jail cell Thursday night after being apprehended across the state line in Clay County.
Banister, 34, escaped about 3 a.m. on Sunday, March 22, from a Wyandotte County Sheriff's Deputy while being treated at the University of Kansas Hospital, according to a Wyandotte County Sheriff's Department news release.
He was being held in Wyandotte County on drug charges and a Missouri parole violation. His last known address was in Riverside.
