KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Black and Veatch completed cleaning at its Overland Park facility overnight after announcing Monday that two employees were being monitored for possible exposure to the coronavirus outbreak.
A company spokesperson said workers were able to return to work Tuesday.
The two affected employees may have been exposed to COVID-19 on Friday aboard a flight outside the United States. They are self-isolating, a Black and Veatch spokesperson said.
Black and Veatch alerted public health officials, including the Johnson County Department of Health and Environment and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
The spokesperson said the company has "taken steps to exceed all recommended protocols from the World Health Organization (WHO), CDC as well as local health authorities," according to a statement from Black and Veatch.
