KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Johnson County, Kansas Department of Health and Environment said Sunday that a sixth person has tested positive for COVID-19.
The new case represents the sixth case in Johnson County, and the ninth case in Kansas.
JCDHE reports the latest patient is a male in his 50s. A press release Sunday night said the origin of transmission was unknown.
The release continues that the patient is isolated at home and “doing well.” Additionally, the family of the patient is in quarantine.
Earlier Sunday night, Kansas Gov. Laura Kelly strongly recommended that all Kansas school districts cancel classes for at least the next week.
