KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The University of Missouri—Kansas City will move to online-only classes after Thursday, following many other schools that have made similar adjustments in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Classes will be canceled on Friday, March 13, to give the campus time to prepare, UMKC announced Thursday. Classes will move to an online format beginning March 16.

In addition, all non-essential university events will be canceled until further notice, according to the UMKC website.

UMKC has canceled all spring and summer study abroad programs for students. All university-related international travel also has been canceled until further notice, as well as “non-essential domestic travel.”

At this time, no confirmed cases have been reported on the UMKC campus.
