Super Bowl 53 has been the talk of social media today ... namely about two things: Low ratings and a low final score.
The New England Patriots won against the Los Angeles Rams at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on Sunday, beating them 13-3. The Patriots have won six Super Bowl titles in 17 years.
The low score is a bit of proof that the game was rather uneventful. Maroon 5 with Big Boi and Travis Scott headlined the half-time musical performance, with some critics saying they played it safe — the most memorable moment may have been when front man Adam Levine took of his shirt.
But the overall big news might be the ratings: Super Bowl 53 averaged a 44.9 rating in metered market households, early numbers show. That's the lowest since 2009, when the game drew a 42.0 metered rating.
In 2018, Super Bowl 52 drew a 47.4 household rating, Variety reports.
