Massive fire causes overpass to collapse on Atlanta interstate
A large fire in Atlanta has caused a section of an interstate overpass to collapse.
The fire began burning on Piedmont Road, underneath Interstate 85 around rush hour. The fire eventually caused the collapse of the overpass.
CNN reports that all lanes of the highway were blocked and will be closed for the foreseeable future. That prospect sent shudders through metro Atlanta commuters, who already contend with heavy traffic.
