ScrapsKC is a nonprofit organization that takes donated items and turns them into something else.
Reuse, repurpose and renew are the three words ScrapsKC lives by.
Supplies are donated by the community and then re-purposed.
ScrapsKC told 41 Action News that since they launched in 2016, they have already kept over 12 tons of materials from entering landfills.
Based on the supplies that are donated, you can find tons of different items in their store. Things for arts and crafts, school and office supplies, along with tons of fabric, textiles and household items.
For those who want to take part in some arts and crafts, ScrapsKC sells kits online that you can order to be shipped or to be picked up curbside.
The organization also has an initiative to help those experiencing homelessness by providing volunteer opportunities, giving out meals and working to make sure they have necessary supplies.
