OSBORN, Mo. — The Shatto Milk Company in Osborn, Missouri, has been in operation since 2003, but the dairy farm has been in the same family for more than 100 years.

Carried on by generations of daughters, Barb Shatto is working to make sure her family's legacy continues in a way the community can enjoy — beyond just dairy products.

From tours to cow milking and samples to education, visitors to Shatto Milk Company can easily spend hours on the farm.

During a visit, you can see where the farm's 300-plus cows eat and sleep, as well as how they are milked.

Then, tour the processing plant to learn how the bottles are prepared for reuse.

Farm tours, which are an hour and a half, are by appointment only at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday through Saturday. Appointments must be made by calling the farm.

Groups are welcome, and children 2 and under are free.

To learn more about the farm, visit the Shatto Milk Company website.
