With the 2016 presidential election now in the books, millions of Donald Trump supporters hope change comes soon.
Trump picked up over 270 electoral votes on Tuesday, with a big win coming in Kansas.
The President-elect defeated Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton by over 20 percentage points in Kansas while winning in all but two counties in the state.
On Wednesday, 41 Action News spoke with several Trump supporters in Leavenworth, which came out strongly for Trump.
Amanda Trentham, a 24-year-old mother who works as a phlebotomist, said she voted for the Republican candidate in hopes he would overturn the Affordable Care Act.
"It has to be repealed," she explained. "Nobody can survive off of paying for that. We see so many patients come without any insurance because Obamacare is as much as their mortgage if not more."
Others, like Lou Sperl, said Trump appealed to them because of his promise to build a wall along the Mexican border.
"We need immigration reform. I personally think we need a wall," said Sperl. "Our immigration laws are blatantly not being enforced. The federal government has abandoned any enforcement."
One supporter, Tom Anglim, voted by absentee ballot for Trump this year in hopes he can help improve the economy.
"I'm a cook at a restaurant and I work 50-60 hours a week," he explained. "We just keep printing off more money and there's nothing to back it up. Donald Trump is a businessman so he'll know which way to go."
Donald Trump received almost double the amount of votes as Hillary Clinton in Leavenworth this year.
His supporters now hope he delivers on his many campaign promises.
"I'm excited to see what's going to happen," said Amanda Trentham. "I really hope that Donald puts everything he said to work."
