Election Commissioner Bruce Newby has never seen interest as high as it is for elections 2016.
"So far it's been unlike any other," he said. "I thought 2008 was heavy, this is worse, or better, depends on your perspective."
Following federal inspections, Wyandotte County had to eliminate several polling locations because they didn't meet standards set by the Americans with Disabilities Act.
That, combined with thousands of newly registered voters, could make for an extra long wait.
"Vote early. Serious. Vote early, otherwise, if I don't have substantial numbers of people voting early the lines on election day have the potential of being very, very long," Newby explained.
