Still no answers Wednesday in the death of 2-year-old girl after she stopped breathing at home.
A medical call Tuesday afternoon to the 400 block of S. Hickory would become a tragedy for the parents of two-year-old Presley Kay Porting. Paramedics found the little girl not breathing.
Almeda White, 24, watched the drama unfold from her window next-door.
“I looked and I knew that something serious happened because there's so many cops and everything around,” White said.
She said that Porting lived at home with her two step-sisters, her father, and his fiancé.
“I was super worried. I was heartbroken because I knew it wasn't good when I saw Nick come outside,” White said. “He was bawling and he fell to the ground and I knew that it was not good.
Police said Porting died shortly after she arrived at the hospital. Law enforcement and neighbors still didn’t know why the girl stopped breathing.
“I've been thinking about it all day today I mean, I just don't know. Every time that we were there she seemed perfectly fine,” White said. “I hope they get it figured out. I'm so hurt for them, like honestly.”
Porting’s family is still working on making funeral arrangements. A GoFundMe campaign has been set up to help with funeral expenses.
