Man sentenced in January 2015 murder at a Shawnee gun store

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A Johnson County, Kansas judge sentenced a man to life in prison with no chance of parole for 25 years in a 2015 murder at a Shawnee gun store.

Nicquan Midgyett, 22, was also sentenced to 68 months on two robbery counts and 48 months on an aggravated battery charge.

Midgyett and three other men tried to rob the She's a Pistol gun store in January 2015.

The store's co-owner, Becky Bieker, was beaten during the robbery.

Her husband, Jon Bieker, came to her defense and was shot. He died at a hospital.

Two other men involved in the robbery, Londro Patterson and Hakeem Malik, were sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for 25 years.

DeAnthony Wiley, the fourth and final defendant, will be sentenced on April 12.

Wiley pleaded guilty earlier this year to murder and other charges.

He was shot during the robbery.
