A bi-wing plane made a hard landing in a field near the Gardner Municipal Airport in Gardner, Kansas, on Thursday night following a mechanical malfunction.
The pilot, who was the only person on the plane, was not injured, according to authorities.

The FAA plans to come out Friday to investigate.
The plane is a WWI replica and was supposed to be part of an air show this weekend.
