The Legends has plenty of draws in the summer, spring and fall. Sporting Kansas City's soccer season is just starting, the Kansas Speedway, T-Bones baseball, Hollywood Casino and shopping.
But now KCK Mayor Mark Holland is looking to boost tourism during the winter months.
Holland says a convention center with an attached hotel will do just that.

The Village West area already sees about 10 million visitors year-round. It generates more than $25 million in property and sales tax revenue every year.
The mayor thinks the new property would spike the economy and he's asking developers to send in proposals.
The idea for a convention center and hotel goes back to the mid-2000s when the Unified Government and Hollywood Casino agreed the casino would build one or pay the city $1.3 million to $1.5 million a year.
The casino has paid that sum the past two years, but the city is more concerned with growth. Those proposals are due by next Thursday, March 16.
Holland is looking for proposals for a 30,000 to 50,000 square foot convention center and 225-room hotel.
