Emergency crews in Olathe rescued two adults and a baby from a vehicle early Friday morning at Lake Olathe.
The Olathe Fire Department reported to the scene at 12:45 a.m. on Friday. The department said a man, woman and their 2-year-old child, who were traveling across a low water bridge below the lake's dam, became stranded in a powerful current.
The Olathe Fire Department said firefighters used a ladder truck to reach the family and bring them to safety. After the rescue, firefighters gave the family a ride to their home, according to a news release from the department. The Olathe Police Department and Med-Act also helped at the scene.
No one was injured, according to the Olathe Fire Department.
The Olathe Fire Department reminds everyone to use an alternate route and never drive or walk into flood waters.
