KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The body of five-year-old Lucas Hernandez has reportedly been found in rural Harvey County, Kansas.
NBC affiliate KSNW reports multiple sources confirmed a body believed to be Lucas has been found.
KSNW also reports there's a heavy police presence in near 9700 S. Woodlawn in southeast Harvey County.
Lucas went missing Feb. 17 while in the care of his stepmother, Emily Glass.
Sedgwick County court documents indicate that state officials were alerted that Lucas was being abused at least twice. The documents detailed accounts from people who said they saw Lucas with bruises, black eyes and cuts at various times in the year before he disappeared.
KSNW's Emily Younger reported Glass was booked into jail at 10:34 p.m. Thursday night. At the time, it was unclear if the arrest was connected to the discovery of the body.
