The Shawnee Mission East basketball coach has a new look worth $21,000, and it’s all for a good cause.
Team members shaved the head of Shawn Hair on Thursday.
Hair agreed to the smooth head as part of a fundraiser to help the 3-year-old son of Briarwood Elementary teacher Tina Reiger. The boy, Tyler, suffers from leukemia.
Organizers set a goal of $10,000 but surpassed it by more than double.
Tyler underwent a bone marrow transplant in January.
