The Independence Events Center is getting a makeover.
The City of Independence and Spectra by Comcast Spectator, the providers of Venue Management and Food Services and Hospitality to the center, announced Wednesday a new multi-year partnership with Silverstein Eye Centers, according to a news release from Spectra.
The center will now be known as the Silverstein Eye Centers Arena.
The news release states the arena’s website domain changed to reflect the new name, www.SilversteinEyeCentersArena.com.
According to the news release, the deal will bring new exterior and interior signage and a new partnership with the Missouri Mavericks and Missouri Comets.
All the new signs are expected to be in place in time for the Mavericks’ home opener on Saturday, Oct. 24, the news release states.
