INDEPENDENCE, Mo. — A reward of $10,000 is available for information that leads to arrests in a Thursday morning gun store burglary in Independence.
Independence and Kansas City police officers chased and captured a juvenile suspect.
Detectives believe other suspects were involved in the burglary at the Armory KC.
It happened around 2 a.m. Thursday.
As employees cleaned up glass and debris from the shattered door, police said the man may have tried to break in using a truck.
Police chased a vehicle and caught one suspect.
Several firearms were taken from the business.
This comes after Mayor Sly James and KCPD Police Chief Rick Smith sat down earlier this week to discuss the push for gun laws in Missouri.
James said he wants an ordinance to be passed so people must report to officials when a gun has been lost or stolen.
The reward is being offered by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco. Firearms and Explosives, Independence Police Department and the National Shooting Sports Foundation.
