Brad Sartain was a country boy.

He was the youngest of three brothers and loved nothing more than hanging out with family, and friends.

Sartain was an avid fisherman.

But now his family is trying to cope with Sartain's murder Saturday at the Hawthorne Place Apartments in Independence.

Sartain, 18, and another man, who name has not been released, were found shot to death in the 600 block of North Peck Court.

Independence Police have released few details about the incident.

41 Action News reporter Belinda Post went to the scene Saturday.

She reported police tape and sirens are a common sight and found neighbors who desperately want change.

"I have kids and it is too close. This is the second time it's hit close to my home," said Zaneta Horne, referring to the September homicide of Eliud Lisbon. "You see these people go in and out everyday and the next thing you know, dang, what happened."

A vigil will be held Sunday night at 6:30 at McCoy Park at U.S. 24 Highway and North Delaware Street in Independence.
