Jackson County Public Works is picking up storm debris for free for residents in rural, unincorporated parts of the county.
Residents should separate debris into specific piles, such as wood, metal, and home materials.

If it's on the curb, they'll pick it up on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
The service ends April 1.
Folks who are able to haul debris off themselves should take it to the Eastern Jackson County Yard Waste Collection Center for free. They should bring identification to prove residency.
Free drop-off ends March 26.
The service is saving one Grain Valley family thousands, who lost three barns and a home on their 20-acre property.
"Them dumpsters cost $400 apiece if we rent one. The city coming out to take the wood and all that metal is just a blessing," Tom Gilchrist said. "We didn't know where to start."
Different agencies are still out around the county assessing damage. The reports will be sent into the state, and then relief funds will be divvied up. Missouri Governor Eric Greitens declared a state of emergency.
