A six-year-old girl is saying thanks to the Lee's Summit Police Department after officers saved her birthday party.
Alyson Antle's parents say only one of her friends were able to make it to her birthday party because it was held on a busy holiday weekend. So, since Alyson loves police officers, her parents had an idea.
"My husband and I thought it would be a good idea to call the police department and see if they could send an officer out," said Tiffany Ante, Alyson's mother.
Twelve officers ended up showing up. The officers took pictures with Alyson, let her sit in one of their cruisers and even turn on the sirens. Some of the officers even brought gifts.
"It was very heart felt I had to hold back the tears at the party, honestly... it was very touching," said Tiffany Antle.
To say thanks, Alyson and her mom brought cookies and brownies to the Lee's Summit Police Department headquarters.
