KANSAS CITY, Mo. – 41 Action News unveiled Monday a new initiative that aims to make our community a safer place to live, raise a family, work and enjoy life.

SafeKC is our effort to make Kansas City a safer place by empowering others to stand-up.

We plan to partner with people and groups in the community to identify solutions that strengthen our communities and make them safer.

41 Action News anchor Mike Marusarz – himself a Kansas City native – recently talked about our vision and goals for SafeKC.

You’ll see every facet of the 41 Action News team as part of our SafeKC effort.

41 Action News anchor Kevin Holmes has already worked to highlight the efforts of people stepping up in the community.

You can track all of our stories and access resources to make the community safer on a website we’ve built for the project: kshb.com/safeKC.

We’ll need your help in this project too. On the SafeKC website, you’ll find a contact us form for story ideas, suggestions or comments.

You can also e-mail us at safekc@kshb.com or call (816) 932-4141.

Do you have a Safe KC story idea? Tell us about it!
