One man injured after stabbing in Gardner

One man was injured after being stabbed early Monday morning in Gardner, Kansas. 

Police were called to the 1000 block of Wilderness Trail shortly after midnight following reports of a stabbing. 

Upon arrival, officers found the victim, described as a black male in his mid 20s, on the front porch. 

He was suffering from stab wounds to his abdomen and an extremity. He was able to talk to officers and provide information on a person of interest in the incident. He was then transported to a local hospital where he is currently undergoing surgery for his injuries.

Officers later located the person of interest, a black males in his 40s, in the 300 block of North Pine. 

He was taken into custody without incident. He was then transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Detectives are currently interviewing him. 

The victim's condition is unknown at this time. 

The investigation is ongoing.
