Authorities found a body in a Topeka motel room that erupted in flames during a shootout in which three federal agents were injured while trying to arrest a man accused of robbery, FBI officials said Sunday.

Two deputy U.S. marshals and an FBI agent suffered non-life threatening injuries Saturday night when they came under fire while trying to arrest 28-year-old Orlando Collins at the Country Club Motel near Topeka Boulevard and 37th Street.

The man, who was being sought on a federal robbery warrant, was also on the Kansas Most Wanted List and was considered armed and dangerous.

As the officers approached the motel room, they came under fire from inside the room. During the gunfire, a fire broke out in the room where authorities later found a body.

The unidentified body was located within the motel room where police think Collins was staying. The agency did not immediately identify the body or say whether Collins was arrested.

All three injured officers were taken to the hospital and treated for their injuries.

Authorities said earlier that four agents were injured. The FBI didn't specify the nature of the injuries and didn't immediately return calls seeking clarification about the change.

No other injuries were reported, and police evacuated the motel, which fire officials said was a total loss.
