KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Two inert grenades were found in luggage in late September at Wichita’s Dwight D. Eisenhower Airport, the Transportation Security Administration said Wednesday.
In a weekly round-up of prohibited items collected at the nation’s airports, the TSA said the two grenades were found on the same day at the Wichita airport – one in a carry-on bag, the second in a checked bag.
The grenades are prohibited in both carry-on and checked baggage.
A Smith & Wesson Bodyguard-model .380 handgun was discovered in a carry-on bag on Sept. 24 at Kansas City International Airport. The TSA said the gun was loaded and had a round chambered when agents located the weapon.
