KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Tonganoxie School District said on Facebook that a weapon was found in a locker Thursday but officials determined there wasn't a threat.
The post didn't clarify what type of weapon was found but described the incident as an "unfortunate accident" and that no malice or threat was intended. No students were in the building at the time.
“We consider the discovery of any weapon to be very serious. The safety of our children and our community are our top priority. Thankfully, no one was in danger and all steps have been taken to secure the situation,” said Superintendent Loren Feldkamp in the Facebook post.
The statement said police feel it was an isolated incident and have completed their investigation.
