A man has been charged in a fatal shooting just south of St. Joseph.
According to KQ2, the Buchanan County Sheriff's Department arrived at a home on Southeast McQueen near State Highway A shortly before 11 p.m. Sunday.
Upon arrival, officers located a 74-year-old victim who had been shot. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim was later identified as Louis Nold.
KQ2 reports Justin Appleberry, 23, is charged with second-degree murder in Nold's death.
Prosecutors allege Appleberry forced his way into Nold's home, obtained a firearm and shot and killed Nold.
