Where were you born and raised?
Kansas City, Missouri.

What is your occupation?
Executive Director of Missouri Democratic Party and Owner of Dean & Dunn, LLC.

What is your favorite childhood memory?
My favorite childhood memory is going to the library with my mother to get books. Because of that I have a passion for books and reading.

What does Black History Month mean to you?
Black history means highlighting, eliminating and educating people on the contributions of African American/Blacks often not taught. Black History month provides us an opportunity to bring forward and highlight champions, innovators, leaders, events which have had impacts on the lives of all American's and the world at large.

What do you believe is the most important issue currently facing the Black community?
I believe social justice and wealth equity are the most important issues facing the black community in 2021.

When did you realize you were Black in America and what has that meant for your life?
I have always known that I was black because my parents ensured that my brothers and I understood how many people would view us and treat us because of the color of our skin.

Who or what is your biggest inspiration to push for change?
I continue to push for change because I want others to have all of the same opportunities that I have been afforded in life. I want to ensure that equity is brought to fore and that barriers erected to minimize opportunities and access for African American's are demolished.

How have you supported or contributed to the local Black community?
I support the local black community by financially supporting black businesses. As a former elected official I also introduced and supported legislation that would benefit the black community. I stand against those that wish to diminish the black community.
