KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Giving Hope and Help is hosting a feminine hygiene product drive through a donation event this Saturday, Dec. 12, at Swope Park in Kansas City, Missouri.
Jessica McClellan is founder and president of Giving Hope and Help.
The nonprofit organization is asking women's groups, families and individuals to donate new feminine napkins, tampons, and new teenage and women's underwear, sizes 5 to 4X.
The goal is to fill a truck with feminine hygiene products and underwear to help teenage girls and women in domestic violence shelters in the Kansas City area.
"When these needs are met, it gives [women in domestic violence shelters] a sense of empowerment. It gives them a sense that 'I can make it, because all of my needs are met,'" McClellan said.
The feminine hygiene product contact-less drive thru donation is Saturday from noon to 3 p.m. at the main entrance of Swope Park, 6601 Swope Pkwy., Kansas City, Missouri.
