KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City Senior Citizen Christmas Dinner has been feeding people over 60 years old who have no family for more than 40 years.

The organization hopes to keep the tradition alive this year, but it's running into troubles due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Usually, the organization hosts the dinners at several area churches. But but due to the virus, the organization will deliver the meals to people.

The dinners are paid for through private donations from local businesses.

The organization lost many of its donors this year, because so many had to shut down due to the economic fallout from the pandemic.

People can help save Senior Citizen Christmas Dinner by donating online or volunteering to help deliver meals to senior citizens on Christmas Day.
