KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The owner of Fav Trip convenience stores in the Kansas City area launched a delivery and curbside pickup service earlier than planned in response to COVID-19.

The new service is so popular that owner Babir Sultan is now scrambling to hire delivery drivers, cashiers and stockers.

Right now, the delivery service is only at Fav Trip’s Independence store, but once he gets enough staff, Sultan wants to expand to his two other stores in Kansas City and Leavenworth.

Sultan said he once lived paycheck to paycheck. He’s grateful to be in a position where he can hire people.

“A job means a lot to me, being able to provide a job for people means the world to me," Sultan said. "I’ve mentioned before it’s a great privilege to be at a business considered essential and being able to provide for people by being open and for our current employees but also for future employees."

Pay begins at $10.40 per hour and hours are flexible. Fav Trip is paying $1 more per hour as hazard pay during the pandemic. To apply for an opening, click here.

If you do end up getting a job at Fav Trip, you have to have a sense of humor. The convenience store is somewhat famous on social media for videos Sultan narrates showing surveillance footage of people stealing from the store.
