2020 Chiefs inaugural “Red Friday Run” to go virtual

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Registration for the Kansas City Chiefs' inaugural “Red Friday Run” is now open to fans.

The event will take place on Thursday, Sept. 16, and will be virtual.

“Chiefs fans throughout the country and all over the world can participate virtually with the option to complete the 5K however they choose,” the team said about the virtual race.

When fans register for the event, they will receive a special edition Red Friday flag, a Red Friday 5K t-shirt and a race bib, which will be mailed.

Once fans complete the 5K, the team is encouraging them to take a photo in their Chiefs gear with their Red Friday flag and post on social media using #RedFriday.

Early bird registration began Tuesday and will run through Monday, Aug. 31.

Tickets cost $30 for the public and $25 for season ticket holders.

Once early bird registration closes, people will still be able to purchase tickets from Sept 1. to Sept 13.

Tickets will then cost $40 for the general public and $35 for season ticket holders.
