KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Before Andy Reid’s arrival in Kansas City, the Chiefs had never won back-to-back AFC West championships.
After a 33-27 victory Sunday at Miami, Reid’s Chiefs have now won a record-tying five consecutive AFC West titles — as many as the franchise won from 1972 to 2015.

They also put Kansas City’s run of dominance in the division, which is on par with the 1970s Raiders and Peyton Manning-era Broncos, into perspective.
The Chiefs, who ended a 50-year championship drought by winning Super Bowl LIV last season, are 12-1.
That’s the best record in franchise history through 13 games.
With Pittsburgh’s loss on Sunday Night Football at Buffalo, the Chiefs also woke up in the driver’s seat for the No. 1 seed and a first-round bye in the AFC playoffs.
