The Kansas City Royals have acquired three pitchers in a trade with the San Diego Padres.
The Royals announced they acquired pitchers Trevor Cahill, Brandon Maurer, and Ryan Buchter from the Padres in exchange for pitchers Matt Strahm, Travis Wood, minor league infielder Esteury Ruiz and cash considerations.

The Royals have also recalled pitcher Brian Flynn from Omaha (AAA) and designated pitchers Al Alburquerque and Luke Farrell for assignment.
