Royals fans called Tuesday the day to make new family memories.

As they walked up to the gates at Kauffman Stadium, it was not hard to find families who have a mom or dad who watched the 1985 World Series and are now bringing their children.

Larry Olds brought his two older sons, and of course, dad bought the tickets.

"In 1985, he was born and that's when I was into the World Series. And he was four and that's when they had to listen to me yell and scream through that," Larry recalled.

Olds' sons were both excited for the game, for slightly different reasons.

"It's just great to be out and I've heard all the stories of him coming with all his friends in 1985, and now that I get to do it with him and my brother, it's a new memory to start," Jabin, Larry's younger son, said.

Older brother Curtis was happy for the improved conditions.

"Just looking forward to getting a win and happy it's not raining," he said
