The 2016 season for the Kansas City Royals has come to an end.
Despite not making the playoffs, the 'Boys in Blue' made yet another memorable year for fans at The K.
For starters, Royals fans were voted the best in baseball and Kansas City was crowned the 'best baseball town in America.'
The Royals kick started the year with the raising of the World Series Championship flag on Opening Day, a moment Kansas City fans have waited 30 years for.
Don't forget that we also beat the returning National League champion New York Mets at Kauffman Stadium that same night, 4-3.
Following their historic run in 2015, the Royals were sporting some major bling during the World Series Championship ring ceremony.
Fast forward to mid-season when Eric Hosmer (MVP) and Salvador Perez dominated the N.L. during the All-Star Game. The Hoz-Perez duo each hit a home run in the second inning off Giants right-hander Johnny Cueto, who pitched for the Royals in their run to the 2014 World Series championship.
Talk about revenge.

The Royals' 2016 season wouldn't be complete without mentioning the significance of our beloved friend and good luck charm, Rally Mantis.

The fight between pitcher Yordano Ventura and and Baltimore Oriole infielder Manny Machado was also pretty epic.
It will be sad not to see the Royals compete for another World Series run this post season, but there will also be next year.
The Kansas City Royals finished third in the A.L. Central with an 81-81 record.
The Royals sent a special thank you to their fans for their support during the season.
