KANSAS CITY, Mo. – A recent winning tradition for the Kansas City Royals is being let go.
A Royals spokesman said the character “KayCee” that would carry a “W” after a Royals home win is being discontinued.
The W tradition started a handful of years ago as the team made the post-season.
But the tradition supplanted a previous winning celebration by the team’s mascot Sluggerrr, which the team hopes to re-establish in connection to the team’s 50th anniversary season.
