KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Boulevard Brewing Co. has challenged a Bay Area microbrewery to a charitable challenge centered around Super Bowl LIV.

Via the company’s official Twitter account, Boulevard Brewing suggested a “friendly wager” based on the outcome of “the Big Game” with San Francisco-based 21st Amendment Brewery.

“Loser sends the other brewery some beer AND donates $1,000 to a charity of the winner’s choice. You in?,” Boulevard Brewing asked.

While barred from using the term Super Bowl by copyright laws, it’s pretty clear that Boulevard is backing the hometown Kansas City Chiefs against 21st Amendment’s hometown NFL team, the San Francisco 49ers, who square off Feb. 2 in Super Bowl LIV at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida.

It didn’t take long for the two breweries to reach an agreement.

Four hours later, Boulevard took to social media again with the terms of the friendly wager.

In addition to betting beer (obviously!), a Chiefs win means a donation to the Veterans Community Project, while a 49ers win would mean a donation to Project Night Night, a homeless children’s charity in the Bay Area.
