MANHATTAN, Kan. — Moments before he boarded a plane to San Jose, CA for the first round of the NCAA Tournament, Bruce Weber delivered some familiar, bad news.
Dean Wade will likely miss this Big Dance run.
"The injury was more severe than we ever anticipated. It's going to take a little time," said Weber.
Wade was spotted on crutches boarding the plane for K-State's Friday match-up with UC-Irvine. The Wildcats are the #4 seed in the South Region. The Anteaters are the #13 seed.
"We can't put him (Wade) in jeopardy. And he'd love to play," said Weber. "It's not him at all"
Wade played only eight minutes of K-State's run to the Elite 8 last season. He's yet to play at all this postseason.
