Chiefs General Manager Brett Veach says the late first-round pick does have its challenges.

“It’s good to have the 32nd pick of the draft and knowing that you’re super bowl champs but when you’re sitting at 32, we all look at the mock drafts and we all do our own mock drafts, the only issue with that is that there are so many variables and there are always a couples twists and turns in the draft and the further down you are there’s gonna be more twists and turns by the time you get to 32 as opposed to 10,” Veach said.

NFL Network’s James Palmer thinks the Chiefs spot in the draft gives them the flexibility to either grab elite talent that fell from earlier in the round.

“This is a great spot to be in and I think with the Chiefs though, the need to me is in the trenches,” Palmer said. “I think interior offensive line is definitely a need; right now they have two good tackles and a generational quarterback, so I wouldn’t be surprised there, I wouldn’t be surprised on defensive line, linebacker as well, and corner if the right corner falls to you, I would pull the trigger if I was Brett Veach.”
