KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Chiefs defensive tackle Chris Jones did not practice Wednesday ahead of the AFC Championship Game.
Jones suffered a calf injury last Thursday and missed Kansas City’s wild 51-31 comeback victory Sunday against the Houston Texans in the AFC Divisional Round.
He tested the calf on the field before the game, but it was determined he would not be able to play.
Jones’ continued absence from practice cast doubts on his availability for Sunday’s matchup with the Tennessee Titans.
In 13 regular-season games, Jones racked up team-highs of nine sacks and 20 quarterback hits. He also added 36 total tackles and four passes defended, which tied for the team lead among defensive linemen, with a forced fumble and fumble recovery.
Running back LeSean McCoy and backup quarterback Matt Moore, who stepped in and went 1-1 as the starter when Patrick Mahomes missed two October games with a knee injury, also did not practice Wednesday due to illness.
