ORIGINAL POST | The Chiefs already won a pretty important game at Hard Rock Stadium in 2020, rallying past the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LIV.

Now, Kansas City faces another important test on South Beach at noon Sunday against the Miami Dolphins.

The Chiefs — 11-1 overall and winners of seven straight games — are tied with the Steelers for the best record in the AFC.

Pittsburgh still owns the tiebreaker, but another stumble would give Kansas City the chance to claim the top seed — and all-important first-round playoff bye — if coach Andy Reid’s crew keeps stacking wins.

The Chiefs clinched a sixth straight postseason berth last week, tying a franchise record, and can clinch a fifth straight AFC West, which would tie another record, with a win over the Dolphins.

But Miami, which also finds itself in playoff position under second-year coach Brian Flores, has plenty to play for as well led by rookie quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, who led Alabama to a national championship game win over Mecole Hardman Jr.’s Georgia squad three years ago.

Analyst Nick Jacobs and host Tod Palmer explain what the Chiefs need to do to return from Miami with another win and another AFC West title on the latest “4th & 1” podcast.

The Chiefs’ defense will be depleted. Linebacker Damien Wilson (knee) has been ruled out, while safety Tyrann Mathieu (hip) is questionable.

But there’s nothing questionable about Kansas City’s offense, which includes two of the top pass catchers in the NFL this season.

Wide receiver Tyreek Hill, who ranks third in receiving yards in the NFL (1,079), missed some practice time, but finished the week as a full participant.

As good as tight end Travis Kelce — who is second in the NFL with 1,114 receiving yards this season — has been, he’s more concerned about his off-field legacy.

Kansas City left some points on the field last week against Denver, when Reid failed to have a Hill touchdown reviewed and watched another get erased by penalty.

The Chiefs made some changes to ensure the former won’t happen again, and Hill vowed to stop back-flipping into the end zone, which he did for the second straight week after the latter.

Finally, if you’re into sports memorabilia and are a Patrick Mahomes fan, here’s a chance to bid on a rare piece.
