KANSAS CITY, Mo. — One week down, one week to go before the Kansas City Chiefs hit the turf in Tampa and try to go for another Super Bowl win. But because of the pandemic, things are changing to keep everyone safe.

Last year, the team piled into buses and headed to the airport days before the big game. This year, 41 Action News has not confirmed when the team will be leaving for Tampa, but ESPN's Adam Schefter is reporting that the team doesn't plan to arrive until February 6th, a day before the game.

While this schedule looks a lot different than before, the star QB said there is an upside to staying in town longer.

"Same time last year when we were here, we were kind of practicing in the same manner, making sure we were ready to go. You can get a little more in focus because you have a full... another week where you don't have as many obligations as far as going to different places and media night and everything," Patrick Mahomes, Quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs said on Thursday.

The Chiefs will take on the Buccaneers next Sunday at 5:30 p.m.
