KANSAS CITY, Mo. — It's hard to miss the excitement in Kansas City, Missouri, surrounding the Chiefs' run to the Super Bowl.
Several Instagram-worthy spots have been set up at Union Station for fans to take pictures in front of.
"Especially with the whole COVID pandemic, it allows us to be able to get out and celebrate the Chiefs in any other way," Chiefs fan Mischelle Moore said.
Moore brought her daughter and friend to enjoy the excitement.
"We’re like super excited," she said. "Like, we’re die hard Chiefs fans. See -- I got all the buttons. I love Chiefs."
Some fans like Kim Gilges traveling to Kansas City to celebrate.
"Max and I came up from Texas," Gilges said. "We live down in Dallas, and so we had to make a trip up to Kansas City to see it, so this is awesome."
Sylvia Thomas, a Chiefs fan from Omaha, said she has been waiting for these Super Bowl moments her entire life.
"I’ll be 45. We won last year. We got to run it back one more time," Thomas said.
Many fans also purchased new apparel before the Super Bowl, like at The Bunker in Westport, which helps boost the company's bottom line.
"The teams winning have definitely been a nice boost for our first quarter when we had expected possibly very slow sales," Drew Barr, general manager of The Bunker, said.
Steve Snarich and Kelsey Lindberg recently moved to the Kansas City area were among those "upping" their apparel to represent Kansas City.
"It’s so much more than football, it’s family," Lindberg said.
