College football settling into new lineups

Posted

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The news is "new" out of Columbia. As in new Tigers that veteran quarterback Drew Lock will be throwing to.

As many as five true freshman wide receivers could see the field early on the season.

"Maybe not for the first snap, but the receiver spot... the majority of the freshmen are going to have action."

Over in Lawrence, the Jayhawks have named their starting quarterback. It's Peyton Bender. The senior played in 10 games last season and led KU in passing.

Kansas State still hasn't decided on a starting quarterback. They've got two good choices in Alex Delton and Skylar Thompson out of Fort Osage High School. But they do know who will be blocking for him/them. Offensive lineman Dalton Risner has been named to ESPN's Preseason All-American Team.
