KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Kansas State University announced Friday a contract extension for men’s basketball coach Bruce Weber.

With the extension, Weber will remain the Wildcats’ coach through the 2022-2023 season.

Weber, 61, who has been with the team for seven seasons, is slated to make at least $2.5 million next season. By the 2022-23 season, Weber will be paid at least $2.9 million.

Kansas State Athletic Director Gene Taylor praised Weber’s performance last season, when the team made the Elite 8 in the NCAA Tournament.

"We are very fortunate to have not only such an outstanding basketball coach but also a man in coach Weber who conducts his program with integrity and class and is widely respected across the nation," said Taylor in a release announcing the extension.
