SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Teresa Young and LaLa Vick have already traveled hundreds of miles during the NCAA Tournament to see their sons play on the Kansas Jayhawks basketball team.

Their journey continues this weekend to San Antonio, but they won’t be the only moms traveling a long distance to catch the game.

By Saturday night, Teresa Young, the mother of guard Clay Young, LaLa Vick, the mother of guard LaGerald Vick, and Florence Azuonuwu, the mother forward Udoka Azubuike, will have all arrived in San Antonio in time to see the Jayhawks take on the Villanova Wildcats.

Teresa Young and LaLa Vick documented their journey to Omaha last week, as the Youngs traveled from Lansing, Kan., with the Vick’s arriving from Memphis.

For Azuonuwu, she got the green light in the last few days that she would be able to make the trip from her native Nigeria when members of the House and Senate delegation from Kansas helped her obtain a Visa and passport.

She’s never seen her son play.
