JOCO parents of Loyola players anxious ahead of the Final Four

SAN ANTONIO -- Their kids helped lead this year's Cinderella team to the Final Four. And ahead of their game, the parents are as anxious as ever.

Loyola-Chicago senior guard Ben Richardson and junior guard Clayton Custer grew up together and played at Blue Valley Northwest High School. Now, they are playing together in the Final Four in San Antonio.

"I'm still pinching myself. I really am," said Ben's mother, Anna Richardson.

With the parents hanging out in San Antonio ahead of the games on Saturday, they may be more nervous than their sons.

"The players have some control over what happens," said Clayton's dad, Galen Custer. "We're just there, wishing and hoping with all our heart that things go right."

It's a day both players dreamed about for years.

"We've watched the Final Four for years. We are huge sports fans," said Richardson.

"This is what Clayton has dedicated his life to. After thousands and thousands of hours of shooting, it makes you really happy for them." Custer said as he choked up.
